The United States Senate is poised to take one of the most fateful votes in its history. It is expected – perhaps as early as tomorrow – to decide whether to impose the radical homosexual agenda on America’s armed forces. Unless 41 Senators object to taking such a momentous step during a lame-duck session, without serious debate and in the absence of powerful evidence of its inadvisability, Congress will surely destroy the all-volunteer military.

Want to Stop AIDS? Then Behave Yourself!
One of the most startling facts of life I've learned during the past thirty years is that there is such a thing as a stupid doctor. This played out during my years as an MS,RD,CDN where I realized that they don't know jack about nutrition.
Now today I see an article meant for public consumption about the importance of getting tested for HIV in order to help stop the spread of this life-threatening infection. (As if that alone will do the trick.)
Nothing about the fact that this epidemic is behavior-driven. Just a tacit mention that most new cases will be among men who have sex with men.
Testing is one thing;I'm not knocking it. But, AIDS won't be contained without change in behavior. The burgeoning ex-gay population is proof that same-sex attraction can be diminished in many who are disaffected by their homosexuality.
Therefore, The Doctors ought to recognize and address the fact that change is possible - and every homosexual has the right to know this.

What a Diff a Century Makes

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag.. We have room for but one language here and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."
Theodore Roosevelt - 26th President of the United States (1901 - 1909)
from a letter he wrote to the president of the American Defense Society on January 3, 1919.

BTW, Mamaditto's husband is Puerto Rican and he agrees with me on this.

Humanists Rant ; Christians Analyze
While processing the info garnered from last week's NARTH convention I was rudely interrupted by a lame bunch of atheists, courtesy of the infamous Gray Lady, aka the NY Slimes.
Christmas is coming, so they're at it again. Why don't they give us a break and go annoy the Muslims during Ramadan for a change?
Here's the article:
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/10/us/10atheist.html?_r=2
Now, aside from the fact that the young lady in the picture seems very unhappy for an "evangelist" I just want to focus on the part that deals with "alarming Scripture passages." Now, acc/to atheist doctrine, God is not to be believed bec whenever Big Deity appears on the scene, stuff like this comes out:
"The people of Samaria must bear their guilt, because they have rebelled against their God. They will fall by the sword; their little ones will be dashed to the ground, their pregnant women ripped open.” (Hos 13:16)
Let me see if I can get this straight. (I only have a rinky-dink Masters Degree, two Certificates, plus a slew of continuing education credits, so please bear with my primitive, superstitious mind.)
Hosea writes an editorial pertaining to the events of his day. He gives his assessment that rejecting God can only result in trouble.
And the problem with that is...???
Hosea got it right. Abandoning the Source for Absolute Good leaves us with no guiding moral authority (read lawlessness.)
Things haven't changed much since 730BC. "Because they have rebelled against their God" people continue to "fall by the sword" (read murder), "their little ones will be dashed to the ground" (read abuse), "their pregnant women ripped open" (abortion).
Rather than wasting money on an ads proclaiming their hatred toward the God who doesn't exist, these lost souls ought to be in therapy finding out what their problem is in dealing with authority. (Probably didn't, wouldn't or couldn't relate to their own fathers.)
No need to thank me. I'm always glad to help.

Sex and the Service

U.S. Rep. Scott Murphy, who serves on the U.S. House Armed Services Committee, has voted to repeal the "don't ask don't tell" policy, declaring it to be outdated ). However, if "don't ask don't tell" is repealed, then instances of predatory behavior against servicemen will most probably increase.
His re-election campaign is now running TV ads touting all he's done for small businesses in New York. Will successful businesses matter in the long run if America's military might is compromised in this way?

Gay Fundamentalism's Double Standard
Mamaditto met Randy Thomas at an Exodus North Atlantic Regional Conference in NY a couple of years ago. This fine young man became a Christian and renounced homosexuality. He is now a living testament to the fact that unwanted SSA can be overcome. Below is an essay he wrote about transgenderism and the double standard applied to it by pro-gay activists.

Mea Culpa, Ann
Ann, I'm sorry. I was one of the one's who stood aghast at your decision to speak at the recent GOProud meeting. You know, that dastardly little group of homosexual activists who seek to infiltrate and misappropriate the conservative label.
Well, you took care of them, my dear, as only you know how.
I should have known better than to second-guess you.

Let's Remember in November that Character Matters
Politicians are paid by the taxpayers. They propose, vote on and implement laws the rest of us must live by. They set the tone of national discourse by virtue of their access to the media. How they comport themselves in public sends a message to the next generation.
Therefore, it is not asking too much to expect them to behave decently, given the power and authority they have.
One need not be a rocket scientist to know that adultery and homosexual sex are always wrong.
In this day and age, any type of sexual misconduct on the part of a public servant is just plain stupid, given a prurient press, the Internet and 24/7 cable news.
Bottom line: America needs leadership from GOOD people, not simply SMART people.

I Don't Mean to Intrude, but...
Dear Ken,
You don't know me, but I have something to tell you. Maybe you should sit down first. Ready? You're not a homosexual.
How do I know this? Well, it just so happens that as a middle-aged member of the human race I know something about human behavior. And having participated in human reproduction, I can assuredly tell you that your sexuality is a behavior - not a personal identity. Isn't that good news? I think so. And so do a lot of people who once were where you are now. They thought that because they were attracted to their own gender they needed to reduce their personhood to a niche status in order to be "whole."
Feelings can be misleading. They can be a symptom that something isn't kosher. Feeling relieved about "coming out" results from identifying the problem - much like receiving a firm diagnosis for a mysterious disease. But the "cure" - that is, embracing the "gay" label - could be worse than the malady itself.
I hope you will reconsider this decision and spend some time talking to the good people at PFOX or one of the other many ex-gay organizations.
What have you got to lose, except maybe your life?
Sincerely,
http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2010/08/bush-campaign-chief-and-former-rnc-chair-ken-mehlman-im-gay/62065/

Wayne's Poem
You'll walk among the angels now,
So hold your head up high.
Slide down upon a rainbow,
Or grab your wings and fly.
Smile as bright as sunshine
For now you'll feel no more pain.
Fear will never come again
For the brave angel who's name is Wayne.

Sloppy Thinker

He does not want the government involved in sexual politics, but is content to have the Government Accountability Office and the American Psychological Association influence this area of military policy.
He cites the experiences of other countries. Who cares what other nations do? These are different cultures with different worldviews and different forms of governance ranging from communism to Islamic theocracy.
His article did not explain what the repeal of DADT will look like. Will it mean that homosexual soldiers may openly flaunt their relationships? Will it mean that recruits must allow openly homosexual doctors to give them their physicals? Will it mean that transgenders can cross-dress and wear makeup? Will chaplains be barred from pastoral counseling? Will it mean that anyone who objects will be branded "homophobic" and forced to undergo sensitivity training?
Stossel defended his opinions with the lame excuse "People should be allowed to do what they want so long as no one gets hurt." Does he seriously believe this should be the foundational basis for the armed forces deciding who gets to serve?
Military readiness is not a popularity contest. Its mission is for the USA to have the most superior fighting force in the world. Its rules and traditions are beyond the scope of libertine freethinking.

Oldie but Goodie (Encore from 2006)
The most pitiful activists who agitate to normalize homosexuality are those who seek to Christianize it.
Claiming love is a Christian hallmark, they reason that homosexual romance is compatible with Christianity. Of course, only bigots and hatemongers disagree.
Such credulity would be dismissive were it not so tragic. In Scripture, being in love is not the sole basis for acceptable sexual relationships. This is due to the fallibility of mankind, which redounds on discernment.
Thus, romantic attractions can seem justified when they are, in fact, destructive. As the Proverb states: "There is a way which seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death." (Pr 14:12)
This skewed human nature is exactly what Jesus reminded the Pharisees of when he pointed out God's intent for human sexuality: lifetime monogamy for one man and one woman.
(Mt 19:4-8)
To this day, even non-Christians acknowledge the practicality of Jesus' ethical teachings. For believers, would any among us dare call the Redeemer of mankind a bigot and a hatemonger?

Oldie but Goodie (Encore from 2007)
When my kids were in high school, I had a concern about the info regarding homosexuality that was presented in their hygiene class textbook. I felt it put a "happy face" on the condition at the expense of good health. I made an appointment with the school board president to explain to him that the school district may be putting itself at risk if a confused kid is pushed to experiment with homosexual sex after reading the fauxnaif presentation and then ending up with AIDS, or another STD, or (God forbid) gets raped.

Newtie Patootie and the Seventh Big One (the Commandment - not the Suggestion)
Mamaditto Speaks: Since American citizens must live by the laws crafted by those who hold office as well as pay for the salaries, benefits and perks via taxes, it's not asking too much to expect that they set an example for the next generation by keeping their passions under control. Therefore, mamaditto firmly believes that pols who commit adultery while in office have no place in public life. The column below by Burt Prelutsky says it all...

Civil Unions Ridicule the Sanctity of Marriage (Encore from 2007)
Those who voice opposition to same-sex "marriage" yet support civil unions insert a somewhat deranged school of thought into the national discourse. Proponents use the same tired buzzwords of 'equality' and 'diversity'. This semblance of altruism is something the public can do without. A snake is still a snake despite the euphemisms people invent.
Civil unions would provide the legal approbation necessary for its advocates to gain access to the next generation. As the cultural supports for traditional, monogamous, heterosexual marriage are eroded away, the downside for the kids being denied an opposite sex parent will be astounding.
Children being exposed in school and in society to the idea that they can ''marry'' either a boy or a girl when they grow up will have a confounding effect on the national psyche.
Family infrastructure will suffer from the effects of instability as rates of adultery and divorce accelerate. Courts will be more logjammed than ever. And what will be the economic toll on health care as more dollars are allocated to treat AIDS, STDs and psychopathology?
These are some of the projected consequences to creating a parallel institution that mimics authentic marriage.

The important thing to remember about sexual politics is it's not about "rights". It's about an agenda hell-bent on redefining marriage (whoever you are infatuated with), family (whoever you live with) and relationships (fidelity is passe).

The Folly of Same-Sex Relations
This ought to be a slam-dunk, but these are strange times we are living in. So, to recap:
(1) Marriage is the social contract which protects the children WHO MAY RESULT from the union of their parents.
(2) Since men are not physically equipped to copulate with other men, there is no need for the state to recognize their “unions.” The worse-case scenario is death.
(3) Since women are not physically equipped to copulate with other women, there is no need for the state to recognize their “unions.” The worse case scenario is infection.
(4) Since men and women are physically equipped to copulate with each other and since men make sperm and women make eggs (read babies) the state has a vested interest in encouraging monogamous unions between men and women BECAUSE KIDS HAVE RIGHTS, TOO!
Some people point to childless marriages as a rationale for homosexual relations. That argument does not work because reproduction is necessary for a SPECIES, not for every individual.
